Three minutes later, Keary drove a ball forward to a streaking Howard, who hit a strong shot and doubled the Gaelette lead to 2-0. Working from limited practice leading into the game, the Gaelettes came out solid but not showing the spark they brought to the season opener. Law capitalized on this in the 49th minute, pushing the ball past GK Ari Malick to tie the score. Disaster struck 8 minutes later when the Gaelettes didn't pressure after a turnover in the Law end. The hosts drove a long ball forward putting the Gaelette defense under pressure and catching them a bit out of shape. A looping ball went into the Shelton goal area and dropped into the net, giving the Lady Lawmen a 2-1 lead. Shelton rallied, behind their experienced group of seniors and juniors and put strong pressure on the Law back line. In the 63rd minute Law gave up a corner kick. Howard's ball was put beautifully into the center and defender Erin Keary, put her head on it and drove it into the back of the next to tie the score.
